Vendor Spotlight

Celebrate National Ice Cream Month with Author's Best-Selling Ice Creams!

Author’s Best, is a family run business that got its start in 2021. Co-founder Ahmed has always loved ice cream and in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his family started making their own to share with friends. They soon realized their pandemic hobby was a hit and decided to bring their flavors to the local markets for others to try. Joined by Ahmed’s nephew Fayzan, the pair sold their first scoops at the Wakefield and Oak Marr Markets in 2021. Now in their third season at the Fairfax County Farmers Markets, Author’s Best has an assortment of unique flavors to choose from such as white coffee, passionfruit, lemon raspberry and more. They offer pints, scoops, and sorbets made with dairy from a local farm and intentionally-sourced ingredients resulting in the perfect summer treat!

Next time you’re at the Reston or Wakefield Markets, stop by and say hello to the “family with the small cart and great heart”.
