Beechwood Orchards

Beechwood Orchards is a fifth-generation, family-owned farm that has been operating in Adams County, PA for over a century. Last month, Melissa was kind enough to show FCPA staff around her family’s farm where they grow 20+ varieties of apples as well as pears, peaches, apricots, cherries, grapes and berries. Like most of our orchards, Beechwood also has about 10 acres dedicated to field crops including tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, garlic and sweet potatoes. They even have a whole property just for growing asparagus! The farm is located next to Penn State Fruit Lab, so Melissa and her family can stay current on the latest research and incorporate new practices into their orchards. You can find Beechwood Orchards at the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Market (every Wednesday through Dec. 20). Stop by and pick up some apples -- they're delicious!
