Give Your Scraps a Second Life—Food Scrap Collection Returns!

Your kitchen scraps deserve better than the landfill! This season, drop off your food waste at our farmers markets and help turn it into nutrient-rich compost instead of harmful methane gas. Here’s how easy it is to join the movement:

  • Save Your Scraps – Apple peels, carrot tops, and old bread? Toss them in a container like a coffee can, Tupperware, or even a 5-gallon bucket.
  • Bring Them to the Market – Once full, bring your container to one of our 10 market locations.
  • Find the Compost Tent – Dump your scraps in the bin and feel good knowing they’ll be put to good use!

The Farmers Markets reopen in April and May, so now’s the time to prep your collection container and brush up on what’s compostable.

Bag the Plastic—Bring Your Own!

Did you know just one vendor at our markets used 4,000 plastic bags a day? Multiply that by 120 vendors across 10 locations, and we’re talking an enormous amount of waste!

This season, we’re saying bye-bye to plastic shopping bags. Instead, bring your favorite reusable bags to shop in style! If you forget, don’t worry—vendors will have a limited supply of compostable bags as a backup.

Make the switch and help keep plastic out of landfills, where it lingers for 10 to 1,000 years!
