Market Fresh Updates

Nourish Your Neighbor with Fresh Food

Join the fight against food insecurity in Fairfax County by taking part in Nourish Your Neighbor, our monthly fresh food drive at all FCPA Farmers Markets. The next collection runs June 25–29.

How it works:
Buy extra fruits and vegetables at the market and drop them off at the green Market Info tent. All fresh donations go directly to local food pantries at the end of each market day

Thanks to your generosity, we collected 593 pounds of produce last month!

Vendor Spotlight: Valentine’s Bakery and Meats

Valentine’s Bakery and Meats, based in Orange, Virginia, began as a home bakery in 1995. Thanks to Darletta Miller’s irresistible recipes, the business quickly grew. In 2007, the Miller family expanded their offerings to include meat products—an easy addition, considering Valentine Miller’s background.

Valentine was raised on a 123-acre family farm passed down from his great-grandfather, where he learned to care for cattle, pigs and sheep. Today, he and his family raise around 500 animals, all treated with the highest standards of humane care. For instance, their 2,000 acres of pasture are kept free of tall seed heads that can irritate cows’ eyes and cause infection. Fewer infections mean no need for antibiotics—and happier, healthier cows.

You can find Valentine's Bakery and Meats at the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers Market every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sherwood Library parking lot.
