Celebrate Local Flavor During National Farmers Market Week!

 

The Fairfax County Park Authority joins markets across the nation in celebrating National Farmers Market Week, Aug. 3-9! Come out to any of our 10 Farmers Markets for live music, activities for kids and themed giveaways.

 

For more than 30 years, Park Authority markets have helped Northern Virginia eat fresh, shop and connect to the local land. This week, let’s celebrate the farmers, bakers and makers who bring community to our tables!

Vendor Spotlight-Hog Haven Farm

 

Meet Buddy and Coredila, a boar and sow from Hog Haven Farm! You may know Hog Haven for their delicious breakfast sandwiches, made from scratch using pork from the pigs they raise on their farm. Rob, the owner of Hog Haven, and his family bought the land 10 years ago and began raising pigs as a hobby. That hobby has since grown into a full-time business, offering not only breakfast sandwiches but also a wide variety of pork cuts. The pigs roam freely into the forest, foraging for seeds to supplement their grain diet.
