Street Corner Arts exists to facilitate enjoyable and engaging art through collaboration with our friends and other members of the Austin, TX community. We strive to do relevant material in an accessible way and desire a two-way conversation with our audience.
We at Street Corner Arts agree with Shakespeare:
The Play is the thing.
That’s why our focus is always on scripts with a clear vision and crisp, intelligent dialogue.From there, we make acting the focal point of the process by hiring some of Austin’s best and brightest professional actors and giving them the opportunity to shape the production through our collective, collaborative process.
We seek to engage our audience in a conversation about current topics through our productions with the goal of enriching and strengthening our community by the performance of theatre.
We look forward to participating in that dialogue with you.

Meet The Team
Benjamin Summers
Producing Director
Benjamin has been seen as John Honeyman in A Walk in the Woods, Doug in Gruesome Playground Injuries, and Fletcher in Men of Tortuga. He directed Pocatello, Bull, The Altruists & Waiting for Lefty and produced Perfect Mendacity, The North Plan, The Great God Pan and Constellations. Benjamin is a company member of Austin Playhouse and Hyde Park Theatre. He received his B.A. in Theatre with a focus on acting and directing from Davidson College in North Carolina and moved to Austin (via Denver and Chicago) in late 2006. When he is not on the stage, Benjamin can be found teaching math to middle school students at Gorzycki Middle School.
Jeremy Brown
Assoc. Producing Director
Jeremy has been working as an actor, director, writer, stage manager, producer, arts administrator, and all points in between with many great companies throughout his career including: ST. LOUIS, MO – The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. NEW YORK – National Theatre of the Performing Arts. AUSTIN, TX – The Bedlam Faction, Austin Shakespeare Festival, Gobotrick Theatre, Shakespeare at Winedale. WASHINGTON, DC – Arena Stage, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre Co., Round House Theatre, Keegan Theatre, Theater Alliance, Kennedy Cennter, American Ensemble Theatre, Hub Theatre. Jeremy holds a BFA in Theatre from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, St. Louis.
Andrea Skola Summers
Artistic Director
Andrea Skola Summers is an artist and educator in Austin, TX. She is a co-founding member of Street Corner Arts and a Core Company Member of Hyde Park Theatre. Skola has directed SCA shows: Perfect Mendacity, Skylight, The Great God Pan, The North Plan, A Walk in the Woods, Gruesome Playground Injuries, and Men of Tortuga.
Rommel Sulit
Assoc. Artistic Director
Rommel co-founded SCA with the vision of growing a theater company around simple but timeless principles: good scripts, talented actors, thoughtful direction and production. So far, he’s proud of the results. He has performed for the stage, film and TV. Theatrical credits include Carlton Berg in The North Plan (SCA), Cousin Julio in The Motherfucker With the Hat (Capital T), Jean Giono in The Man Who Planted Trees (The Exchange Artists) and Jeff Kling in Men of Tortuga by Jason Wells (SCA). Rommel trained at the School at Steppenwold and has received several Austin Critics’ Table and B. Iden Payne nominations for his work here in Austin.
Carlo Lorenzo Garcia
Company Member
Carlo is an actor/director/writer/designer who previously performed with Street Corner Arts in POCATELLO & JUNK and directed THE BUTCHER OF BARABOO, winner of 6 B. Iden Payne Awards. Most recently, he wrote and performed A PORTRAIT OF MY MOTHER with Jarrott Productions, nominated for 5 B. Iden Payne Awards and winner of Outstanding Lead Performer - Digital Live. Other acting credits include work with Goodman Theatre, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., Strawdog Theatre Company, Shrewd Productions, Walkabout Theater Company at Lookingglass, Vineyard Arts Project and more.
